Race held on May 19, 2024: 2024 Lake Juniper Final Results
Once a year, the 50 meter pool at Juniper Swim and Fitness Center in Bend, is transformed into a lake for the Beautiful Lake Juniper Buoy Swim! The event is a 1200 meter swim consisting of 12 loops of a rectangular 100-meter course marked with buoys. Swim direction will be clockwise in even numbered years and counter-clockwise in odd numbered years. Swimmers will be placed in seeded heats (12 - 30 swimmers per heat) consisting of several waves (4-6 swimmers per wave) leaving at specified intervals. You might want to bring a friend to help you count the loops! This is the open water equivalent of short track speed skating and is planned to be an early-season open water learning experience and fun challenge for first time racers and experienced competitors alike!
We often pair the Beautiful Lake Juniper Buoy Swim with either an Open Water Clinic or a Long-Course 50-Meter Swim Meet on Saturday. You must be a registered member of United States Masters Swimming or purchase a one-event membership when you sign-up for the Swim meet/Clinic and/or Beautiful Lake Juniper Buoy Swim.
